•••The "C" Family Preview•••

This past weekend I drove down to Jackson, GA for my first session of the New Year. What a fun session it was! We had rescheduled this session several times due to weather and health issues, so I was super excited to finally meet the C family. We met at a family members beautiful house on the lake, and everything came together perfectly. Moments before our shoot started it was down pouring rain, but as the shoot went on the sun poked out and it became a beautiful day for such a fun session.
I loved this picture when I saw it. It is just looks like everyone is having so much fun, and I love the interaction between everyone. If you look closely you can even see the rain pouring off the roof in the background.

The C family wanted to make sure that their favorite person in the world was included in the shoot. You could tell that this beautiful lady held a special place in their hearts, and that she was just their whole world. It was so sweet, and I felt so fortunate to be able to capture a few of their tender moments with one another.
Ah, Mr. C..."Hahahaha......not funny!" Inside joke for the C family. :)

•••10 on Tuesday•••

Trying out a new thing for the blog. 10 on Tuesday was passed along to me from another photographer. Basically, 10 random things, thoughts, happenings going on in the wonderful world of AFS. So here we go...

1. Brrr... so cold! I was so bummed this morning when I woke up and realized the weather man tricked me. What happened to the snow?!? Not. One. Flake.

2. Still catching up from the marathon that was Christmas. Eek!

3. Justen is still car less. Just before Thanksgiving he had a run-in with a deer and he still doesn't have his car back.
He was fine, and has been driving an array of rental/loaned vehicles My personal favorite was the Dodge station wagon...nothing says "I am man" more than a blue/silver station wagon.

4. I need to exercise. Bad.

5. Today I watched the Inauguration of our 44th President. I was fascinated by every second and filled with joy in knowing that I was able to witness such a historic moment as a U.S. citizen. Regardless of my political views it was a beautiful thing.

6. That was a TON of people on the National Mall!

7. Working on my sneak peek for the C Family. Here is a super sneak peek:

8. I made several New Year's resolutions this year. One was to read a book a week. So far I have read one. It was a good one though. It was The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks.

Any suggestions for some of my future weekly readings?

9. Justen and I have a new addiction...our Wii. We don't have a ton of time to play it, but when we can it is super fun. One of the games we have is Rock Band 2. We haven't quite mastered our musical talents, but we call it a good day when we can get 85% accurate. On easy mode. The other night we saw this fun commercial:

Makes me laugh every time!

10: Trying to figure out what is for dinner. Cheerios or left over Little Caesar's? Hmmm...it is a tough choice. Aren't my culinary skills just super impressive?

•••A Wedding to Remember•••

Remember last month when I blogged about doing a special family photo project with my sister?Well we are still working through it but look what we found! We found my grandparents wedding photos.

Sigh...

I could look at these photos for hours! It is so neat to see how different everything was...

These are my great grandparents walking down the aisle.

Here is my grandfather and his brother walking down the aisle. Check out the hats. Fancy!

My grandparents saying their vows.

"Now presenting Mr. & Mrs..."

My grandparents and their bridal party.

Here is a neat little tidbit (at least it was neat to me). When I saw this picture I commented to my grandmother how beautiful my aunt's gown was (the lace one to the left). She told me that in color the gown was pink with black lace. Why is this neat to me? Because the gowns I chose for my bridesmaids were pink with black lace. :) Also, we learned that our wedding fell on the 60th anniversary of my grandparents wedding date. Hmm...coincidence? Or, the great wedding gods telling Justen he is stuck with me for at least the next 60 years? :)

And finally, a family photo. Here is my great grandmother and all of my great uncles along with the bride and groom.

Okay off to dig some more!

•••Diabetes Dash 2009•••

Last year, both Justen and I lost grandfathers who battled long histories of Diabetes. Diabetes affects over 23 million children and adults in the U.S. alone, and after seeing the long time struggles that both our family members endured we decided to do something to help. Last Spring one of the things we enjoyed taking part in was the Downtown Dash for Diabetes 5k run/walk. It was so much fun...we met Falcons players, got to see historic parts of the city, and got to listen to fun music. Also, Justen even finished first within our age group and got to take home a fancy shiny plaque (I finished at a close third to last so it isn't like I wasn't close behind!). We had such a blast that we decided to do it again this year! If you guys are interested in checking out the Diabetes it will be on March 21st at 8:30a.m. in Hurt Park. To view more information or to participate go to: http://www.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=299766. Our team name is Bernies 'Betes Bashers if you would like to check out our team page or if you would like to join (you can witness my running in all its glory). Hope to see everyone there!

•••Baby B•••

Okay, time for vacationing photographers to get back to work! This week I have been getting back to real life. It is amazing how quickly the holidays come and go! Just before New Years, I met the B family for some photos with their new precious baby girl. The B family was so sweet and even overlooked a huge boo-boo I made. I was so excited to do their shoot that I accidentally showed up to their house a day early. Eek! No worries though, I came back the following day as scheduled (my face still red from embarrassment) and we had a great photo shoot. Here is a quick preview of the day. I hope you guys enjoy!
