•••Photo of the Day•••

"What are little boys, made of?
Frogs and snails,
And puppy dog tails,
That's what little boys, are made of."

•••Surprise!•••

This past weekend my grandfather threw a surprise birthday party for my grandmother. I am not sure how much of a surprise it was for her...with four children, ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, nothing gets by her! Anyhow, it was a ton of fun and I thought I would share a few snapshots. Happy Birthday Grandma!

•••A Girl's Got to Eat•••

This little cutie (see below) belongs to one of our close friends. We were visiting their house on the lake and enjoying the first days of summer. After a morning full of boating, wakeboarding, swimming, and just all around having fun we all had worked up quite an appetite. As we were eating lunch, I saw that little cutie was have a great time eating her puffs. I don't know what it is about children but they make eating just look like so much fun. I love watching the uninhibited task of grabbing gobs of food with your hands and stuffing as much as you can in your mouth. There are no worries about it getting on your face or clothes. If it falls on the floor - no biggie. Just full concentration and care free enjoyment of your delicious meal. Little cutie made her puffs look so good I was inspired to reach over and try one. As I popped the pink star shaped sweet potato flavored puff into my mouth two thoughts crossed my mind: (1) This is really good and by no means tastes like a sweet potato, more like marshmellow goodness. (2) These have vegatable/fruit parts in them, are good for you, and taste like this?!? Are they low in calories as well and does my local grocery store sell them? After grabbing a few more puffs just to make sure the first one wasn't a fluke, I broke out my camera for a few pictures, and made a mental note to join little cutie at snack time to see what other healthy treats I can try. Hey, as little cutie has taught me... a girl's got to eat.

And So it Begins...

After years of photographing (although, some might call it torturing) my family, friends, and pets with my camera, I have decided to point my lens into a different direction. I have started my own photography business called At First Sight Photography.

I have always loved photography. The idea that a photograph captures one moment in time that can be shared among generations and generations of people brings a smile to my face. I love the fact that one photo can evoke hundreds of memories and emotions. And to be someone to help capture these moments and share them with others is a dream.

I am still in the portfolio/skill building stage of the business, but am looking forward to that fast approaching moment that At First Sight officially launches. It has been an exciting, nerve raking, and, most of all, FUN experience so far.

I will be sure to keep everyone updated often on the adventures of At First Sight Photography and will put up some pictures of recent sessions soon. Thank you to everyone for your love and support in my new endeavor.

P.S. - For those tortured family members, friends, and pets who I mentioned earlier, don't think you are in the clear completely. This just means I might give you a break from my "paparazzi" moments every once and awhile. :)
